Dating has been a way to meet people, learn more about them and eventually know. We derive physical enjoyment and excitement from dating overly when we are on the quest to find our partner for the meantime or for life. However, there has been alarming violence happening on dates, especially with blind dates where you meet a person for the first. It is always best to be at your guard before taking a dive in this emotional and social activity. Here some tips that will keep you safe when dating.

Perhaps the most obvious cause for concern is the location of your date. You should never invite someone to your home for a first date or give exact information where you live. It is always better to meet in a public place such as a restaurant or art gallery, where you are surrounded by other members of the public. This way you dont have to feel uneasy about any potentially dangerous situation. You might also feel more comfortable choosing to meet during daylight hours.

Conversation is key on a date, but avoid giving out too much personal information, such as where you work. It is acceptable to be a little vague in the beginning, telling them what area you work in - such as an accounting firm, is better than giving them details of the company name.

Dont allow someone to talk you into anything your not comfortable with. Be in charge of yourself and dont be led astray. That could mean turning down an offer to drink coffee at theirs towards the end of a date. They might try to persuade you but trust your instincts and make sensible decisions. There is no call to rush into anything at an early stage.

Always inform a good friend of who you are dating and where your planning on going. If you have any doubts, schedule a time for your friend to call you and check everything is alright. Keep your mobile phone with you at all times. If you live alone, it might be reassuring to have that friend wait there for your return.

Plan your travel arrangements when going on a date. It might be that your date might give you a lift to your meeting place or back to your place, until you know them better, politely refuse and take either the public transport, your own car or a friend drive you to your destination and back home.

Limit your first date to a specified time. Letting them know that you have other plans that need attending later on in the day will allow for a good "exit" point.

Take it easy on the alcohol. This can go for anytime, but more importantly when your dating someone who was previously a complete stranger, you dont want to make yourself vulnerable and allow them to take advantage. Drinking too much alcohol could lead to things that you really dont want. Know your limits and stick to them.

These rules might sound like coming from your overprotective father, but you will never know when you will get entangled with the activity of introducing yourself to a complete stranger, especially at the height of online dating. Following these and other safe dating tips you will be able to take your mind of the worry about being safe on your date and focus more on the dating itself. - 31368
